  • Day 1

    Arrival at Baghdad International Airport and transportation from there to the hotel. A welcome from the team and hotel check-in.
    A quick tour of some of Baghdad’s landmarks. This can be arranged in case you landed in Baghdad before it gets dark. Dinner can also be added.

  • Day 2

    Visit nearby attractions. We also arrange for a visit to the Martyr Monument, Al-Mutanabbi Street and statue, Al-Qishla Clock, Soq Al-Safafeer, Soq Al-Sarai, Al-Mustansiryya School, and the Abbasid Palace.

    This includes also a boat tour of the river Tigris as well as lunch, possibly shawarma, followed by fresh pomegranate juice.

    After that, we head to other locations, including Kadhimyya where the Holy shrines of Imam Al-Kadhim and Imam Al-Jawad are.

    Places Will Visit:
    Al-Qishla Clock - Soq Al-Safafeer - Soq Al-Sarai - Al-Mustansiryya School - and the Abbasid Palace.

  • Day 3

    We then start the day by a trip to Babylon, one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The site is where the ancient city was, as well as the Procession Street, the foundations of the real Ishtar Gate, Babylonian temples, the Lion of Babylon, the Maze, and the Southern & Southern palaces.

    Lunch follows.
    After that, we head to the Nimrud monuments.

    This will be followed by a drive to the Holy City of Karbala and check into the hotel there. After arrival, we will head to the Holy shrines of Imam Hussien and Abu Alfadhl Al-Abbas.

    Places Will Visit:
    Holy city of Karbala - BabylonIshtar Gate - Babylonian temples - The Lion of Babylon - The Maze - The Southern & Northern palaces.

  • Day 4

    The next destination is to head to Najaf, to visit the Holy Shrine of Imam Ali and the world’s largest cemetery. We then head to Southern Naseriyya, where we will visit the Ziggurat of Ur, another UNESCO World Heritage Site. Dinner follows.

  • Day 5

    Waking up so early, we head today to the marshes. There, we will get a chance to see the floating villages and enjoy boat trips. The marshes are also included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site list. After the tour, lunch will be a traditional fish meal, unique and only enjoyed in this area. We will also enjoy experiencing the Madhayif, (the reed guest houses).

    Then we will head back to Baghdad. The rest of the day can be spent in Bab Al-Agha.

  • Day 6

    Another early morning! Today our destination is Samarraa, another UNESCO World Heritage Site. There, you will be stunned by the unique architecture of the twisted minaret. We will also visit the holy shrines of Alhadi and Alaskari.

    We then enjoy lunch, then head to Mosul, where we will visit the ancient Hatra.

  • Day 7

    Still in Mosul, we will get a chance to enjoy an authentic kubba breakfast. The day will be spent exploring the ancient history of the city, including locations such as the Mosul Grand Mosque, Bashtabyia Castle, and the Mosul Forests.

    The rest of the time will be left to enjoy local cafes and meet with the locals.

  • Day 8

    Mor Mattai Monastery then we will have lunch, and head back to Baghdad.

  • Day 9

    End of the journey. Prepare to Head to the Airport.

Tour Details

Salman Bak and the Arch of Ctesiphon are optional and may be arranged. We can also arrange for you if you are interested in visiting Kurdistan. Get in touch and let us know of your preferred dates and departure dates and we will endeavor to give you a perfect experience in coordination with our guides in Kurdistan.

General Information

Visa
Iraq has an U visa-on-arrival scheme for citizens of the EU, UK, US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Switzerland, Russia, China, Japan, and South Korea. If you are a citizen of a country other than these, then we will apply for a visa on your behalf. An invitation letter will be issued which you can use at your local embassy to apply for the visa.

Passport
You will need your passport at all Iraqi checkpoints and hotels. Make sure your passport is valid for at least six months by your arrival date, and that it has at least one empty page for the Iraqi visa sticker, otherwise you might have some issues at the border.

Baghdad International Airport
Baghdad International Airport is located 16 kilometers away from downtown Baghdad. It is the country’s largest air base and the home of the national airline Iraqi Airways. Connections are available to destinations worldwide.

Our transfer has been pre-arranged within the package.

Terms and Conditions

Your deposit is non-refundable.

For the balance of your payment, we can refund you the full amount (minus your deposit) up to 8 weeks before the trip date in case you have an emergency, an illness, or you need to cancel.

Any time closer than 8 weeks means we cannot refund you. We recommend that you take out travel insurance that covers troop cancellations. That way should something happen such as a sudden illness, you would get a full pay-out from your insurance company.
